Oh my gawd, it’s our five year anniversary in Iraq!
Help, help, help, I totally forgot. Should I send her crystal? Maybe silverware?
Or will some growing sectarian and ethnic conflict suffice?
You know Iraq, she’s so picky. I’d hate to give her something she doesn’t want or need.
So the Times of London contacted me saying that they wanted to run a mention of my politically oriented soap in their Sunday Style Magazine.
And to that I said, “Heeeellz yeah”.
Little did I know that it was for a column called “Going Up / Going Down”, in which Scrubya would be part of the latter.
Or that they had such a thing against those of us who brandish coffee berries as we W.A.G. our way down the red carpet in our high heeled UGGs…
Publicity junkies that we are, we at Scrubya headquarters were ultimately just amused. Now, we must end this post so that we can share this fabulous photo with our W.A.G.ulous cohorts on the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party circuit. Toodles, dahlings!

Fact is, soapmaking and spreading the blessings of democracy have a lot in common…
Both require a kind of ‘chemistry’ between potentially volatile ingredients, a chemistry that can get effed up for reasons that we don’t always fully understand. Both require time and patience and more time and more patience. And neither should be attempted by our current president.
We’re *thrilled* to have been mentioned in Sunday’s Washington Post and even more thrilled that so many of you want to get your hands (and other body parts of your choice) on our soap. And we at Scrubya wish that we could churn out our soap as fast as Dubya calls out countries to invade. But it wouldn’t be the kind of soap that you’d want to buy.
So we’re hoping that you will place your order and allow us to fill it next week, when our next few rounds of soap are finish curing and ready for your soapdish.

Thou dost honor us so with thy dulcet words on this here hoary Sunday morn. Lo, the orders, they do cometh in by the minute, for how vast is thy reach, dear WaPo. Verily, with glee reborn, we shalt labor through day and through night to fulfill these orders. For Christmas cometh in less than half a fortnight, and to the post office we now maketh our way, hearts charged with wonder, arms laden with USPS boxes.
Forsooth, dear WaPo, tis perhaps most auspicious that the humble servants of the Scrubya Squad received our first significant press coverage in thy lauded pages. For this most magnificent of missives, we are ever in thy debt.
