For most of the past 25 years, I’ve kept a handwritten diary. The first page I ever wrote was on February 12, 1982, and with spelling / grammar mistakes intact, I offer this excerpt from volume I of the highly anticipated and forthcoming Unexpurgated Diaries of K.Pillay: The Suburban Purgatory Years
Today is Tammi’s Birthday
We played games. for lunch We had
pizza and a cupcake and Jelo.
and They gave us a ring and
a Dot to Dot Book. After
the party I and Tammi
went skating at the end
I had a headace When
I got home I Went to
Sleep. Bu my headace
went away.
But I had a good day.
